MEDITECH awarded Best in KLAS in 3 key categories


KLAS ranked Expanse #1 in Acute Care EMR, Patient Accounting & Patient Management, and Home Health EHR

February 2, 2021 MEDITECH is pleased to announce that Expanse, the company’s mobile, web-based electronic health record (EHR) was ranked #1 in three key categories in the 2021 Best in KLAS: Software & Services report. MEDITECH was the top performer in Acute Care EMR (Community Hospital), Patient Accounting & Patient Management (Community Hospital), and Home Health EHR (small 1-200 average daily census). The company will accept these awards at the Virtual Best in KLAS Awards Reception on February 23.

“The Best in KLAS report and the awards it contains set the standard of excellence for software and services firms. Vendors who win the title of “Best in KLAS” should celebrate and remember that providers now accept only the best from their products and services,” stated KLAS President Adam Gale. “The Best in KLAS award serves as a signal to provider and payer organizations that they should expect excellence from the winning vendors.”

This is the seventh consecutive year MEDITECH has been recognized by the global healthcare research firm, as well as the second year in a row that MEDITECH Expanse earned top honors for both the Acute Care EMR (Community Hospital) and Patient Accounting and Patient Management (Community Hospital).

MEDITECH’s Ambulatory solution was recognized as a top performer for Ambulatory EHR (Over 75 physicians). In addition, MEDITECH was a top performer for Acute Care EMR (Large Hospital/IDN).

Customer testimonials in the KLAS report highlight the impact of MEDITECH’s modern, web-based user interface and workflow benefits. One CMIO commented, “The (Expanse) platform is very slick and smooth. I could be shuffling from the ambulatory setting to the acute setting to the ED setting very easily, provided I had user privileges in all of those settings. The transition is basically seamless from one setting to another. The chart organization is identical. No matter what setting I am in, I don’t have to learn a completely different set of workflows. The workflows are very similar in all areas of the product.” (January 2021)

The financial system also received praise, with one manager stating, “Expanse Patient Accounting is a stable financial system. It ties in very nicely with the EMR. The EMR and this system work very well together which is a huge reason we chose MEDITECH.” (August 2020)

Finally, a CIO reflected on the importance of partnership throughout the pandemic, when vendor support and fast-moving adoption of innovative technologies are needed now more than ever: “MEDITECH has stepped up during the COVID-19 crisis.
