KLAS: Health Catalyst Stands Out with Highest Overall Score in Healthcare BI Market


Enterprise data warehouse & analytics innovator “continues to set the bar for performance and partnership” among BI vendors, according to KLAS 2016 Business Intelligence report

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – November 10, 2016 — Health Catalyst, a leader in healthcare data warehousing and analytics, received the highest overall score and the highest score for “proactive service” among enterprise business intelligence vendors evaluated by the respected research firm, KLAS, in a report published this month, “Enterprise Healthcare BI 2016: Getting Value from BI Tools: A US and Global Perspective.”

The report differentiates 12 enterprise BI vendors based on client reviews, insights and outcomes, and marks the fourth time in three years that Health Catalyst has been recognized as a top performer in the healthcare BI market by KLAS.

“Health Catalyst develops deep partnerships that combine guidance and consulting with strong
training, responsive service, and proactive communication to ensure provider success,” stated the KLAS report. “Providers say that Health Catalyst continues to be a trusted analytics partner, delivering a high quality solution and an unmatched level of partnership. Those using the system say it has helped drive outcomes by helping them better understand the needs of complex patient populations, evaluate the efficacy of treatments, and easily aggregate data from disparate sources.”

In addition to its other field-leading scores, Health Catalyst was rated highest among vendors when end-users were asked to forecast their “overall satisfaction” with their BI solution. Health Catalyst also received the highest KLAS Performance Data scores for “quality of phone/web support,” “executive involvement” and “keeps all promises.”

Health Catalyst engenders trust
According to KLAS, Health Catalyst stands out from the BI field not only for its strong product but also for “the trust [the company] fosters with customers and their proactive communication and guidance.” The report states that “almost all providers say Health Catalyst keeps promises, and end-users have a high degree of confidence in the vendor’s ability to continue to lead the market going forward.”

Health system confidence in Health Catalyst has been strengthened by the company’s decision, unique among BI vendors, to put large portions of its revenue at risk based on its ability to deliver bottom-line results for clients, according to KLAS.

Trend: Healthcare-specific BI vendors outperform cross-industry vendors
KLAS’ report highlights in particular one key trend in the US market for business intelligence solutions: the increased value delivered to clients by healthcare-specific BI vendors versus large, cross-industry BI platform vendors.

“Most large, cross-industry BI platform vendors have consistently failed to deliver the expected value to clients,” according to KLAS. “While cross-industry vendors often have robust functionality, healthcare-specific solutions are still providing the best experience and outcomes for healthcare organizations. Providers say that what sets these more focused vendors apart is proactive partnering with customers to share best practices and ensure success, the delivery of cutting-edge functionality built for a healthcare environment, and a high level of usability that allows less experienced end users to derive value from the system. Customers of cross-industry vendors often report insufficient training to fully leverage the solution, and a lack of hands-on guidance from their vendor.”
